He's limited his touring schedule in recent years to raise a family, but Tracy Byrd is back on the road, celebrating 25 years since his first #1 single "Holdin' Heaven." The Harris Center welcomes Tracy and his own special brand of classic country music to Folsom. He's known as a nice guy - "people should know he's one of the good ones" (Tulsa World) - and his long list of hits speak for themselves: "Watermelon Crawl," "The Keeper of the Stars" (winner of the Country Music Association Song of the Year), "Big Love," and all the rest.

TRACY BYRD and his TBYRD25 Tour will take to Stage One of the Harris Center on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 7:30 pm . Tickets are $38-$62; Premium $72. Tickets are available online at www.harriscenter.net or from Harris Center Ticket Office at 916-608-6888 from 12 noon to 6 pm, Monday through Saturday, and two hours before show time. Parking is included in the price of the ticket. Harris Center is located on the west side of Folsom Lake College campus in Folsom, CA, facing East Bidwell Street.

Tracy Byrd became a household name on the country music scene in 1993 when his third single, called "Holdin' Heaven," from his self-titled debut on MCA Records hit #1 on the Billboard Country Charts. Since that day Byrd has had 18 Top Ten hits, including not only the songs mentioned above, but others like "Don't Take Her She's All I Got," "I'm From the Country," "Ten Rounds with Jose Cuervo," "Lifestyle's of the Not So Rich and Famous," "The First Step," and so many others.

Tracy Byrd has sold over seven million records, including both a Gold and a Double Platinum album, and played over 4000 shows. After his enviable career with both MCA and RCA Records, he struck out on his own with "Different Things," which Billboard magazine chose as one of their Top 10 Country Albums of the Year.

Around 2009, Tracy announced that he needed a break to take care of himself and his most precious thing, his family: wife Michelle, daughter Evee, and sons Logan and Jared. He did not perform from 2010-2013, but in 2014 he got back to the music with a new band and a love of the thing he enjoys so much. Says Byrd, "These day's my life has great balance, with my music being a part of it, not all of it. I can honestly say I have never enjoyed it more!!"

In a November 2018 interview with The Gazette (Iowa), Byrd was settling into his new station as a relatively independent musician. "It's a different deal now," he said. "For most of my career I was on a major label and it was about getting on the radio. But I'm on my own now. I follow my own schedule. I'm writing what's important to me. I don't think about airplay now. I'm not sure how you get on the radio, and that might be a good thing."

He has had quite a career and is thankful for it, and has said publicly that he loves performing more today than he ever has, thanking the fans for allowing him to continue to do what he loves. His performances have a free-wheeling quality to them, in that the laid-back family man enjoys taking requests from fans. "I enjoy living in the moment up there," Byrd said. "When I come to town, just yell out what you want to hear. I have no problem playing exactly what the fans want to hear. I'll be happy to sing it."

On the family front, the news is good: Byrd's oldest of three children is following in his footsteps, sort of. Son Logan, 21, is a rapper. "He and his little brother are into rap," Byrd told The Gazette. "I don't know much about rap, but what he is doing sounds great to me. I told him that if what I heard was lousy, I would tell him, but he's good at it. He's a heck of a guitarist but rap is his thing. He's always working on beats. It's music. His little brother is into rap and my daughter is into country. It's all good. We have a lot of fun when we get together as a family. We just celebrated Thanksgiving and I'll be on the road soon."

Soon indeed. The Harris Center welcomes Tracy Byrd to his Folsom debut on Stage One.
