With lots of new news to announce, Toadies have had a change of plans regarding their upcoming release PLAY.ROCK.MUSIC, originally slated as an EP release for May. The band will now release a full length with the same title on July 31st via Kirtland Records. The change stemmed from the vibe during the recording session says vocalist Vaden Todd Lewis: "The plan was just to record some demos with (producer) Frenchie Smith. It went so well we decided to compile the songs into an EP. But then we were having such a good time, we decided to keep the ball rolling and make a full-length record. A lot of this material was written on the fly in the studio. It was a very exciting and scary process."
Track listing (with more TBA)
1. Rattler's Revival
2. Summer Of The Strange
3. Laments of a Good Man
4. We Burned the City Down
5. Animals.
6. Beside You
To coincide with the release of PLAY.ROCK.MUSIC the band will be on a two month North American co-headline tour with former label cohorts Helmet (Dates TBA.) Toadies are presently out on the road with Social Distortion. (Dates below.)
"Really looking forward to all the touring we've got coming up. It's been fun playing the new material and getting feedback. People seem to be liking this stuff a lot - especially Rattler's Revival and Summer of the Strange. …And we're all very stoked to be going out on tour with Helmet. That tour will definitely crush." Vaden Todd Lewis.
In addition to two nationwide treks, the band will also host their annual Dia De Los Toadies in New Braunfels, TX on Labor Day weekend, August 31st & September 1st. This is the fifth year in row with the festival drawing over 5000 fans each year and growing, there will be a line up announcement very soon.
The first single from PLAY.ROCK.MUSIC, Summer of the Strange will be released digitally on May 8th and the band just finished shooting a video in Portland, OR with the band promising "TITTIES! GUNS! FOOD ABUSE! CHAINSAW!"
