Tucked away in the Germantown area, there is an intimate jazz performance space bursting with creative improvisations and sparkling vocals, located in the old Neuhoff Complex. Nashvillians searching for jazz will find world-class performances and faculty at the Nashville Jazz Workshop. The Nashville Jazz Workshop is a unique, one-of-a-kind school that not only educates students of all ages but has also built a solid reputation for cultivating the jazz culture and community within the Nashville area. Critically acclaimed jazz musicians often travel to Nashville to perform and teach.
Jazzmania, the Jazz Party of the Year, provides support for a variety of Nashville Jazz Workshop scholarships, classes, and performances. Proceeds raised at this celebrated event sustain the 4,000 square foot teaching facilities, offices, the Jazz Cave (a live venue) and a digital recording studio for capturing the live performances. NJW partners with local non-profits and businesses to promote jazz music and to build the jazz community, offering Summer Camps, ongoing classes, performance events, and community outreach activities for all ages.
Atlanta Magazines states, "You might be surprised to learn that the country music capital is also home to a thriving jazz scene. The Nashville Jazz Workshop attracts accomplished artists from across the country, who pass on their expertise to apprentice musicians-and perform concerts in the workshop's cozy Jazz Cave every other weekend."
