Tickets to DJ Rekha at Seattle Theatre Group Go on Sale Today, 5/11

Seattle Theatre Group (STG) opens ticket sales today, May 11, to DJ Rekha in concert with special guests DJ Anjali and The Incredible Kid, to play at The Neptune July 6 at 9 p.m.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $14 day of show, not including applicable fees. Seating is general admission. Tickets go on sale May 11 at 10 a.m. and are available online at Tickets.com, in person at the Paramount Theatre box office (M-F 10am-6pm), 24-hour kiosks located outside the Paramount & Moore Theatres, charge by phone at (877) 784-4849, or online at STGPresents.org.

British born, New York City based, DJ Rekha, DJ, curator, record label owner, educator and activist. Named one of the most influential South Asians by Newsweek, Rekha is among the first DJs to merge classic Bhangra and Bollywood sounds into the language of contemporary electronic dance music. Since establishing herself on the club scene with her inaugural event, Basement Bhangra at SOBs nightclub in 1997, Rekha has produced some of the longest running and most successful parties in New York including Bollywood Disco, and Mutiny. Rekha also produces a weekly radio show, Bhangra and Beyond on http://www.breakthruradio.com/#/viewdj/?id=86. Her label, Beat Bazaar Music launched in November of 2011 with its first release, Pyar Baile.

Rekha's musical accomplishments include sound design for the TONY winning Broadway Show, "Bridge and Tunnel," as well as the Off-Broadway show, "Rafta Rafta." She also served as Associate Producer for the NPR Radio Documentary, "A Feet in Two Worlds" and marked the ten-year anniversary of Basement Bhangra in 2007, with the compilation, DJ Rekha presents Basement Bhangra, featuring an array of international stars including Wyclef Jean, Panjabi MC, Tigerstyle and Bikram Singh.

STG's mission is to make diverse performing arts and education an integral part of our region's cultural identity while keeping three historic venues, The Paramount, Moore and Neptune, alive and vibrant. STG presents a range of performances from Broadway, off-Broadway, dance and jazz, to comedy, concerts of all genres, speakers and family shows - at these three iconic theatres in Seattle and venues throughout the Puget Sound region and in Portland, Oregon.
