The third Original Gravity Concert will be tonight, February 11 at 7pm at Aeronaut Brewing Company, 14 Tyler Street, Somerville, MA. Tickets to Original Gravity are by a suggested $15 donation. More information can be found at originalgravitymusic.org.

The concert will feature the ensemble Transient Canvas (Matthew Sharrock, marimba & Amy Advocat, clarinet) who will play new works by five different New England composers. Each of these pieces will be paired with the beers of Aeronaut Brewing Company with an exclusive beer brewed specifically to match the aesthetics of this ensemble's unique sound.

"Original Gravity will feature some of the most interesting music being written by young composers in New England," says Event Director, Michael Duncan Smith. "We have worked closely with the Aeronaut team to develop a beer that will pair perfectly with this music, and we hope both fans of great music and excellent beer will come out to support the one-of-a-kind event."

About Original Gravity:

Curated by local pianist and composer Keith Kirchoff, Original Gravity Concert Series takes modern classical music out of the concert hall and presents it in an informal, fun environment: a brewery. Committed to promoting the music of New England composers, Original Gravity pairs these pieces with locally brewed craft beer. The composers and the Original Gravity crew work together with the brewers of Aeronaut Brewing Company to design a beer specifically in tune with the artist's work, creating a synchronicity of sound and zymurgy.

This particular program is the annual "Ensemble Concert" which features a single ensemble playing the music of local composers. The program includes works by John Murphree, Andrew Paul Jackson, Aaron Jay Myers, Beau Kenyon, and Keith Kirchoff.

Keith Kirchoff (Artistic Director) is a pianist, composer, and the Vice President of the Society for Electro Acoustic Music in the United States (SEAMUS). Specializing in works which combine interactive electronics with solo piano, his Electro-Acoustic Piano tour has been presented in six countries. Keith is also an accomplished homebrewer and beer connoisseur, having travelled extensively in the US and abroad in search of the perfect pint.

Transient Canvas (Ensemble) is a Boston-based duo of Amy Advocat on clarinet and Matt Sharock on marimba. With a wildly eclectic program ranging from the quietly intense to the jovially raucus, Transient Canvas concerts offer audiences a broad range of musical styles presented in a casual, relaxed atmosphere. Since their founding in 2011, Transient Canvas has had the great honor of commissioning and premiering over 30 new works for their unique instrumentation from composers such as Marti Epstein, Curtis Hughes, John McDonald, Rudolf Rojahn, Osnat Netzer, Mu-Xuan Lin, and more. Their recording of Andy Vores' Fabrication 10: Itch, which was one of the first pieces of music written for the duo, appears on his latest CD "One Head", released in January 2013.
