Cult Hit Theatrical Rockers Sky-Pony serve up Candyland at Mercury Lounge, February 9
Cult-hit Brooklyn rockers Sky-Pony are known for their themed live shows -- "a beautiful mash-up of music, choreography, costumes, projections and drama" (Village Voice). On Friday February 9, they'll serve up their latest themed concert, "Candyland", at NYC's Mercury Lounge. Expect a healthy dose of their lush, lyrical, cheeky indie-pop along with a carnival of candy-sweet theatrics -- there will be ring pops, live projection art, and a ball pit. Really.Sky-Pony is led by the husband-and-wife team ofObie winning writer Kyle Jarrow -- also creator of the new CW television series Valor as well as the bookwriter of the Broadway musical SpongeBob SquarePants -- and Tony nominated actress/singer Lauren Worsham (Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder). Sky-Pony's theatrical roots shine through in its lush, cheeky sound. The band has been called "indie pop aces" by The New York Times and "tight, fierce, hilarious and out of their minds" by The Wall Street Journal.
On Sunday February 9, they'll appear live at Mercury Lounge (217 E Houston Street, NYC. Doors open at 9:30pm. Sky-Pony hits the stage at 10:00. Tickets are just $10 and go on sale January 12th.

That same year they also premiered their rock-theater hybrid piece The Wildness, presented by Ars Nova in collaboration with The Play Company. That too received strong reviews, and the show was nominated for a Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Musical. They just recently headlined the Park Avenue Armory Gala with Patti LuPone.
