The fact that rap music has been infiltrated and derailed is not news to any true hip-hop fans, but little by little comes a generation of Emcees putting it back on course and returning to lyrical skills and tight beats. Among them stands The ZYG 808 who has spent the summer as a part of The Phunk Hits 2018 tour, moving audiences with his dynamic stage show and ability to play drums and rhyme at the same time.
"The Concerto" music video premiered last week on Youtube to over 1000 views and is steadily climbing from word-of-mouth buzzes and social media shares. An active member of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe's Youth Council, touring jazz artist, and proud member of the Zulu Nation, The ZYG 808 is a high school sophomore who started his own label, Soul Poet Records dedicated to producing music that is true to the culture. Much more to come from this talented young artist and producer. Don't believe me? Just Watch!
