Chicago's The Youngest will release See It Through next week on October 28; thirteen tracks that drift from upbeat Americana to wistful folk to guitar-driven blues without ever moving arms-distance from their pensive through line. The album is currently available for pre-order HERE.
The band's sophomore effort was produced by Brian Deck (Iron & Wine, Modest Mouse, Josh Ritter) and features Wilco's
Pat Sansone performing on every track, one of which, "Make Me New", premieres today at
Consequence of Sound. "Make Me New" tells of cautious optimism in the face of adulthood and COS dubs it a, "sweetly rolling ballad, whose textures and earnestness at times evoke early Fleet Foxes."
Frontman Andrew Taetz (vocals, rhythm guitar, keys) identifies the album's inspiration as "half relationships and half society." See It Through's frenetic lyricism offers a reflection on both the current civil zeitgeist and modern youth's reaction to it. "See It Through" is the third track released from the album, following the
Glide premiere of "Red Corolla Rental" and the album announcement accompanying, "Built To Last".
Taetz and his bandmates launch the first leg of their American tour next week, with two additional runs being added through the end of the year and a full expedition in 2017. Expect these dates to be announced shortly and enjoy three tracks from See It Through below ahead of the Oct 28 release.
