Los Angeles indie rock band The Wrecks will headline several dates across the US for their first ever headline tour. The "Robot Army" tour begins October 24th at BOTH in San Francisco, CA. The Wrecks, who recently supported All Time Low on "The Young Renegades Tour," will bring along Vesperteen (Oct 24 - Nov 11), Mainland (Nov 5 - 19), and The Technicolors.
"We've never headlined a tour before," says singer Nick Anderson. "I started this band less than two years ago as just an idea in my head. I'm humbled and honored that there is enough demand out there already for us to get on the road as a headlining band. We literally have less than 15 minutes worth of music released so I really hope everyone is receptive to the new songs. We're all so anxious to get out there and show everyone what we've been working on. I fully expect the shows to be loud, sweaty, fast, and exciting."The Wrecks have just only released one three-song EP, We Are Wrecks (listen HERE), which features "Favorite Liar." song caught the attention of Jeff Reagan at SiriusXM's Alt Nation and was top #5 ontheir Alt-18 countdown for almost 12 weeks. It was top 40 at Alternative Radio and currently has almost 6.5 Million streams on Spotify; live video has garnered over 470,000 views on YouTube. Watch itHERE. Alternative Press, featured them as an "AP Recommends" for the September issue and recently premiered the official video, watch it HERE.
The Wrecks recorded their debut EP on a whim when they heard the news that a friend had been granted access to a professional recording studio for just a few days. With zero budget, limited recording experience, and less than a week as a band under their belts, the group set out to write and record the best songs that they could in three days. A few sleepless nights and several cases of Red Bull later, the EP was cut. Little did the band know, they were not even allowed to be in the studio that week. As the owner's ex-wife was on her way to the studio, they were told they had just minutes to leave without a trace. The band quickly cleaned every bit of evidence from the computer, every crumb of Dominoes from the couch, and they were off with their entire EP on a hard drive in a backpack.
The Wrecks recently began recording new music for a new EP (release date TBD), moving into Anderson's grandmother's house in his small hometown of Wellsville, NY. They recorded the songs in a barn studio that their friend Patrick Barry owns.
Heavily influenced by groups such as The Pixies, The Strokes, Weezer, and Vampire Weekend, this 5-piece isn't afraid to blend undeniably catchy choruses, with lyrics and vocals that have an underlying substance and a certain quirk that give them their young, signature sound. They have played the Alt Nation Tour with The Hunna, Night Riots, and Shelter and have toured with Nothing But Thieves. The Wrecks are Nick Anderson (Vocals/Guitar), Aaron Kelley (Bass), Nick Schmidt (Guitar), Westen Weiss (Guitar), and Billy Nally (Drums).
