Singer, songwriter and activist Scarlett Blu has released the latest music video from The Trash Mermaids, illustrating "Sweet Candy." The video features Blu showing off both her playful and sultry sides, switching from scenes of the frontwoman donning different colored wigs and neon outfits. The track, which premiered with Substream Magazine, was produced by GRAMMY award winning producer Dave Audé (Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, Sting).

"With 'Sweet Candy' I knew I wanted it to be a bright, colorful video," shared Blu. "My goal was to illustrate the energy of a girl who is fun loving, playful and in love with life itself."

The flirty new track follows prior release "Up In The Never" which garnered over 4.1 million views on Youtube as well as "Cryptic Love" and "Xperiel" which both charted on the Billboard Top 20 Dance Club Charts and have a combined 10 million views on Youtube.

The Trash Mermaids use music to inspire sustainability and equality and their name comes from Blu's passion of protecting our oceans. With the help of her fans and their communities, she hopes to fulfill her bigger purpose of cleaning up the world's oceans. In addition to being an advocate for clean oceans, she is also passionate about supporting the rights of the LBGTQ+ community along with mental health awareness and art therapies.

The Trash Mermaids' music is not defined by genre as they want to appeal to everyone, so Blu is often described as a "genre-hopper." Blu writes and creates her own melodies while experimenting and pushing the rules of music. She draws on her commitment to conserving and cleaning the oceans along with personal experience and honesty to write music that can be described as passionate, whimsical, and theatrical.
