The Sweet Remains to Release New Album NORTH & PROSPECT, 2/19

Acoustic folk-rock trio THE SWEET REMAINS will release their new CD 'North & Prospect' on February 19th. The 14-song album is warm, dreamy collection of three-part harmonies and inviting melodies, the likes of which have earned the band steady comparisons to Crosby, Stills & Nash, as well as acclaim in USA TODAY and elsewhere. Their multi-lead-singer approach and trademark overlapping vocals have cemented the band's reputation for delivering a contemporary spin on an ageless tradition. Listen to streaming samples, HERE.

The Sweet Remains -- a collaboration between three singer/songwriters, Rich Price, Greg Naughton and Brian Chartrand -- will kick-off an international tour this weekend, beginning with U.S. dates through March, followed by an April tour of Germany, Switzerland & the Czech Republic, and then a return to America for additional concerts beginning in May. 'North & Prospect' is being released thanks to the support of the band's dedicated fan base. A successful Kickstarter campaign met 150% of the their fundraising goal: "We were really amazed at the outpouring of support for the new record," says Brian Chartrand, and "ultimately, it allowed us to make exactly the album we wanted to make." The self-produced album features the band's unique take on The Beatles classic 'Come Together,' over a dozen new original songs, and stand-out performances from longtime collaborators Joe Deveau (keyboards), Clint Bierman (electric guitar) and Peter Day (bass), as well as Russ Lawton (Trey Anastasio Band), Brad Wentworth (Howie Day) and others.

After a chance jam session in 2007, Rich, Greg and Brian were compelled to found The Sweet Remains with the release of their acclaimed 2009 debut album, 'Laurel & Sunset'. USA Today chose the band as a 'Listen Up Music Pick of The Week,' praising its "sumptuous three-part harmonies." The Boston Herald noted "it's been a long time since three-part harmonies this lush were yoked to songs as melodically gorgeous as these." The band has since toured in support of the music all over the United States and Europe. The inclusion of their song "Dance With Me" on Putumayo World Music's compilation "Acoustic Cafe," (where it led the release to #11 on ITunes "singer-songwriter" chart as the top download) has garnered the band fans all around the globe. Other songs from Laurel & Sunset have been featured on TV & radio, most notably in Subaru's recent ad campaign ("What I'm Looking For").

In 2010, the band had the opportunity to work with producer Iestyn Polson, (David Gray's White Ladder,) on a distinctive session they hope to release in the future. In addition, tSR spent much of the year touring the US and Europe and laying the creative groundwork for what would become their follow-up to 'Laurel & Sunset.'

In 2011, the band recorded a live DVD and CD set "Live at The Canal Room" that captured the final performance of their acclaimed 'in the round' residency at NYC's intimate Canal Room (2010 & 11). "One of the unique things about a three-headed band like ours is the stories -- and even conversations-- that sometimes happen when we're performing live," says Greg. "The DVD (directed by filmmaker Seth Fisher) really captured the fun of those 'in the round' shows and allowed us to share the stories behind the songs -- and of this unusual collaboration (of three singer-songwriters)."

After a brief hiatus in late 2011 and early 2012 that saw new solo albums from Rich and Brian and new additions to the families, the band returned to the studio in 2012 flush with new songs and focus. The band enlisted the help of its fanbase and launched the campaign that lead to 2013's release of 'North & Prospect'. "This group of songs felt like the perfect expression of where we've been and where we are as a band."

Formerly signed to RCA and Geffen Records, Rich Price has released four solo albums and written music for film and television (most notably the multi-platinum selling Shrek 2 soundtrack). He lives in Burlington VT with his wife and 3 sons. Greg Naughton's indie debut, 'Demogogue & the Sun Songs' (co-produced by the legendary and late recording artist Phoebe Snow) was hailed by Performing Songwriter Magazine as a "rough and tumble folk-rock gem." He lives in NYC with his wife, Broadway star, Kelli O'Hara. Brian Chartrand resides in Phoenix Arizona where he is a big presence on the local music scene: performing his own music and fronting the acclaimed VOCE PROJECT (a 6-piece soul country band).
