The Spire Center for Performing Arts, the entertainment mecca of Plymouth, presents An Evening with Patty Larkin in concert on Saturday, April 4, 8 pm, The Spire Center for Performing Arts, 25 ½ Court Street, Plymouth.
Folk-urban pop artist Patty Larkin redefines music's boundaries with her inventive guitar wizardry and uncompromising vocals and lyrics. "Still Green," Larkin's 13th album, plays out in Technicolor sound images, a kaleidoscope of sun and sea that travels from the fluorescent-lit hallways of grief to the warm pull of love, family and nature. This collection of new songs chronicles Larkin's search for respite and solace during a time of grieving the loss of both of her parents, while witnessing the suffering of an ailing sister. Rolling Stone magazine praises her sound as "evocative and sonic shading."
Patty Larkin has invited students from Berklee College of Music, where she is an Artist in Residence, to open for her show. These young and talented artists are part of her performance class this semester. Tickets for An Evening with Patty Larkin are $20, advance purchase is recommended, seating is limited to capacity. The Spire is handicap accessible, public parking is available street side, and in public lots in close proximity.
