To help audiences celebrate the holiday season, The Smith Center for the Performing Arts will present the energizing "DRUMLine Live Holiday Spectacular" at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 29. Created by the acclaimed musical team behind the popular "Drumline" films, this festive production features elite vocalists, musicians and choreography all based on the marching band tradition of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).

Tickets for these performances are now on sale at www.TheSmithCenter.com. Student/children's pricing starts at just $16.50.

Showcasing beautiful holiday costumes and lighting, this production will feature beloved holiday melodies from across numerous eras and styles, including gospel, jazz, soul, Motown, The Nutcracker Suite and contemporary hits by artists such as Mariah Carey, Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber.

All of these will be performed with the driving force of an HBCU marching band, including a show-stopping rendition of "The Little Drummer Boy" as reimagined by the drumline. The production will also include high-energy dancing performances spanning ballet, hip-hop and more.

"DRUMLine Live" is directed by Don P. Roberts, who served as executive band consultant for the hit 20th Century Fox film, "Drumline," as well as its VH1 sequel, "Drumline: A New Beat." He also worked as associate producer and executive band director for the ESPNU television series "The Battle," featuring America's best HBCU marching bands. He further served as executive band consultant for the Missy Elliot hit song "Bad Man."

Under Roberts' direction, "DRUMLine Live" has toured across the U.S. and the world. In addition, Roberts has worked with some of the premier theatrical and film directors and producers in America, including collaborating with Emmy winner Kenny Ortega in preparation for the Centennial Olympic Games.
