The Nevilles will perform the finale performance on June 9th for the 3rd Annual Pittsburgh JazzLive International Festival. Grammy winning, The Nevilles are three generations, musical legends and known as the First Family of Funk and New Orleans' Music. They have recorded groundbreaking music for 30+ years and have toured the world with the likes of Santana, The Rolling Stones.

The Nevilles encompass the whole spirit of New Orleans' funk, soul and rhythm and blues. The band is comprised of Art Neville (founding member of The Neville Brothers and The Meters and oldest brother), Charles Neville (original band member and second oldest brother), Ivan and Ian Neville (Ivan being Aaron's son and Ian being Art's son), Tony Hall (Dumpstaphunk, Neville Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, Dave Matthews and Friends) and Nikki Glaspie (Beyonce and Dumpstaphunk).

"We are thrilled to have The Nevilles perform the finale performance. Chaka Khan canceled her performance due to a medically ordered extended vocal rest. Unfortunately, Ms. Khan has canceled a series of appearances, including performances in Maryland, Ohio and Toronto, Canada. We wish Ms. Khan a speedy recovery and hope to one day hear her classic voice in Pittsburgh," said Janis Burley-Wilson, Director of Jazz Programs for the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.

Grammy Winning, Louisiana Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, The Neville Brothers: Art (oldest), Charles (second), Aaron (third) and Cyril (youngest) have a combined musical performing, writing and recording history of 35 years; with individual brother's musical careers spanning 55 years from Art Neville's beginnings with the Hawkettes and "Mardi Gras Mambo" to The Meters and individual solo careers, including Aaron's 1966 hit, "Tell it Like it Is". The next generation of Ivan and Ian Neville are the torch carriers to the First Family Of Funk and New Orleans' Music.

The Nevilles, create a gumbo of funk and blues style, finding inspiration from their family roots in New Orleans and from the city's rich and varied musical history and legendary musicians. The group was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in January 2012. The Nevilles recording history together began in 1976 and continues to the present.

The Nevilles will perform as part of the Pittsburgh International JazzLive Festival on Sunday, June 9, 2013, at 7:00pm, at the Penn Avenue Stage 1, in downtown Pittsburgh's Cultural District. The concert is free and open to the public.
