New York City-based vocal group, The Manhattan Dolls, are excited to announce their upcoming fundraising concert, "The Dolls Take Manhattan," in hopes of raising funds for their upcoming CD release! The Concert will be tonight, July 19 at 8pm at The West End Lounge.
This fundraising effort is being fueled by "Invested In", an internet crowdfunding site which is known for its success in reaching funding goals which are set by each individual and/or organization. Brown Paper Tickets is also a resource where potential attendees can offer an early donation to secure their seat at this rare, public NYC performance of The Manhattan Dolls. There are premium seats available which will include an autographed photo of a Dolls trio and a special visit from a few Dolls throughout the event. Walk-ins are welcome to this free concert based on space and seat availability.
Inspired by the WWII Era USO-style entertainment, Heather Stricker, former USO girl, founded The Manhattan Dolls in 2009 to keep this incredible music alive. The Manhattan Dolls' 1930s-40s show (Sentimental Journey) was an instant hit! Since then, The Dolls have expanded their repertoire to include a 1910s-20s show (All Dolled Up), a 1950s/60s show (Rockin' With The Dolls) and a Holiday show (Christmas With The Dolls). They perform throughout the US and abroad for active duty military, their families, veterans, and civilian supports. They perform for military events, VA hospitals, senior homes, parades, cruise ships, jazz clubs, TV, radio, you name it!Videos
