Nashville indie-rock trio The Lonely Biscuits have released their cover of Liz Phair's "Never Said" from their forthcoming release The San Francisco EP out September 22 via Most Lonely Records. "We've been fans of Liz Phair for a while, and as we dug deeper into her catalog, we got really inspired by her style and the straightforward attitude in her lyrics," says Biscuits frontman Grady Wenrich. "We decided to cover 'Never Said' because it relates a lot to our sound, but we also saw it as a cool challenge to take something inside of our genre and make it different."

The Nashville music blog East of 8th praised the band's "laid back, groovy spin" on the Exile In Guyville classic.
Glide Magazine premiered the video for the EP's lead single "Talk About." To create the video, the band asked their fans to submit their own art, which they turned into a stop-motion video reminiscent of a vintage 90's Nickelodeon commercial. The song is "light-hearted and poppy," says Glide, and "brings to mind a time when the music you heard on the radio could be fun and interesting without feeling manufactured."
"Talk About" has garnered over 400,000 streams on Spotify.
The Lonely Biscuits formed in August 2011 at Belmont University, where Wenrich and Sam Gidley were roommates. Bassist Nick Byrd lived on the same floor and joined the band in January 2012. The Lonely Biscuits first started gaining attention on college campuses around the country, while they were still students themselves. The last four years the band has been headlining small clubs across the U.S. and opening for other national touring acts. The Lonely Biscuits have played on numerous festival stages such as Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Hangout Fest, Austin City Limits, LouFest and South by Southwest. In 2013, MTVu named The Lonely Biscuits "College Artist of the Year", and gave them the opportunity to play alongside many major acts at the MTVu Woodie Awards in Austin, Texas. After graduating in May of 2015, The Lonely Biscuits partnered with Nashville producer/engineer Paul Moak to record and release their new material. Their Come Around EP was released in November 2015.
The Lonely Biscuits will release their debut album later this year. Check out their Pledgemusic page, where fans can pledge to have the band mow their lawn, write a song about them, or take home Wenwrich's childhood amp.
On September 9, the band will play Nashville's famed Ryman Auditorium for the first time, opening for Judah & the Lion.
