Singer/songwriter The Jones is proud to announce the release of his new heart-felt single "YearBook," a Pop/R&B single inspired by true events and dedicated to anti-bullying. The Jones composed "YearBook" after watching a news story about a young girl who committed suicide after she was bullied by her school mates. He immediately wanted to do something to help anyone going through such a horrible thing. "I don't think singing a song is going to take away the hurt but I want to help cheer someone up if I can". Bullying is getting out of control on all levels these days. Cyber- bullying is also becoming a serious problem.
The Jones will donate 50% of the single's sales to World Vision. The single will be available on iTunes starting January, 20, 2013.
"The yearbook is the place we turn to for that memory of yesterday. My friend who passed wrote the famous "Reach for the moon" quote in my year book. When I sang the song for platinum producer Chiba Antoine (The koors, Destiny Child), he immediately grabbed his guitar and started rocking out with me. The song came together quickly. It was a emotion filled recording session that day at Groovy Miles Studios in NY. After the second verse B-section there's a bridge where I sang the lyrics 'If you reach for the moon, you'll get there soon!" That means to always strive for more and believe in yourself. The problem is that bullies don't believe in themselves. They tend to pick on everyone who do believe in themselves. It all comes down to Education and knowledge of who you are. If everyone knew how great they really were I believe that would end bullying all over the world." - The Jones
The Jones has recorded two full length recordings Loves Smile and My Story. He is currently scheduled to release a new EP entitled The Jones in 2013.
