Coming May 4th, the Italian American Club of Las Vegas will host a tribute to its most illustrious member: Frank Sinatra. And who better to bring the essence of Ol' Blue Eyes back to that legendary stage but the exceptional Dave Halston. Critics have raved about Halston's tribute to the iconic Sinatra, calling it "stunning" and "spot-on". Halston creates a brilliant interpretation of the beloved Chairman of the Board.
Halston has impressed more than a few Sinatra fans. After seeing Dave perform, Frank's widow, Barbara Sinatra, called his performance "Wonderful!". Like Sinatra, Dave's natural charm and charisma is genuine while sporting a familiar swagger and delivering that smooth ribbon of sound. Halston does something few performers are capable of doing a tribute to "Frank" that is patently authentic!
Dave Halston comes to Las Vegas with an impressive list of achievements. When he performed for Mrs. Sinatra, she was brought to tears and by his rendition of "My Way", Frank's signature song. He has also entertained Jeanne Martin (Mrs. Dean Martin), recording artist Michael Feinstein, recording artist Steve Tyrell and Mr. Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton.
Other performances include a vast array of theatres, performing arts centers, casinos and private events nationwide.
Frank Sinatra was not only a lifetime member of this iconic Las Vegas stalwart, he routinely performed there with Dean Martin and Perry Como often joining him onstage. For more than five decades, the venerable social club and restaurant on Sahara Avenue has endured since its founding in 1961.
The Italian American Club still thrives even in the face of the changing landscape in the Las Vegas club scene. According to club president Angelo Cassaro, "Sinatra would be thrilled to death with one of the most impressive restaurant revivals in Las Vegas. Part of his roots was laying the foundation of this club over 50 years ago."
Over the years, many of Las Vegas' biggest names dropped in as members or supporters: Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, Joe DiMaggio, Oscar Goodman, Jerry Lewis, Vic Damone and Jimmy Durante to name a few.
Dave Halston will appear with his "Little Big Band" on Friday, May 4th. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online at http://www.iacvegas.com The show is a production of Tribute Masters, LLC.
