The Iridium Announces Fall Lineup for 'Legends in Session'  Image

This Fall, The Iridium will showcase the songwriters and session musicians behind the biggest rock and pop anthems of all-time. Kicking off "Legends in Session" September 25-27 will be guitarist Paul Gilbert of Mr. Big; multi-Platinum selling recording artist and seven-time Grammy nominee Joan Osborne on September 28 & 29; The Edgar Winter Band on October 5 & 6, Carl Palmer playing the best of Emerson, Lake & Palmer on October 21-23, ZZ Top's Billy F Gibbons on October 30 & 31, and Richie Kotzen of The Winery Dogs and Poison on November 2-4.

On November 11 & 12, The E Street Band's David Sancious, who is also well-known as a popular touring and session musician for Eric Clapton, Sting,and Peter Gabriel, will perform along side Living Colour drummer Will Calhoun.

As part of this Fall's "Legends in Session," The Iridium will present two multiple-night runs by a mix of superstar session musicians that have played in the most prolific bands and artists from the '70s and '80s - The Immediate Family playing three nights November 26-28; and Steve Lukather's & Bill Evans' Toxic Monkey, playing six nights December 4-9.

The Immediate Family is a supergroup of session musicians featuring:

· Danny Kortchmar, who has played, produced and written for Don Henley, Carole King, Jackson Browne, Jon Bon Jovi, and Linda Ronstadt;

· Waddy Wachtel, the consummate rock guitarist who has played with The Rolling Stones, Stevie Nicks, and Steve Perry;

· Rhythm section Leland Sklar (on bass) and Russ Kunkel (on drums), who together have played on close to 5,000 records for a laundry list of artists including James Taylor, Phil Collins, Reba McEntire, George Strait, Willie Nelson, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Lisa Loeb;

· And Steve Postell, who has worked with Jennifer Warnes, David Crosby, and Dave Koz and more.

Toxic Monkey, created by Toto's Steve Lukather and saxophonist Bill Evans, known for playing and recording with Miles Davis throughout the '80s, also features:

· Bassist Will Lee, known for playing with the CBS Orchestra as an original member David Letterman's house band, has also worked with Ace Frehley, James Brown, Mariah Carey, D'Angelo, and Mike Stern;

· Drummer Keith Carlock, who has played with Steely Dan, John Mayer and Sting;

· And keyboardist Steve Weingart who has recorded and/or performed with Chaka Khan, Frank Gambale, and Simon Phillips, among many, many others.
