The Rewind Show is a vision we have had for as long as we have been in the business of night clubs and event planning. We are tired of the same concept that every night-club in NYC has been stuck with over the years and think that it's time to change the way to party! As we all know nothing can compare to a live performance and therefore we have created the Rewind Show! We want to bring an experience like no other by combining the live music of the 80's Rock & Roll era along with the best DJ's spinning the present hits. Every Saturday night, the Highline Ballroom will operate as a high-end night club to let people experience the Rewind Show.

The Music from Winter's Bone
Concert starts @ 8PM
Doors open @ 6PM
Tickets $20.00 in adv, $25.00 day of show
Light In The Attic Records is proud to announce that this summer musicians from the Oscar nominated film Winter's Bone and its soundtrack will be taking to the road, performing their unique take on the traditional music of the Missouri Ozarks to audiences across the US and Canada.
This intimate evening of music will feature Marideth Sisco, Blackberry Winter, Bo Brown, Van Colbert, Dennis Crider, Tedi May, and Linda Stoffel - the original Ozarks musicians from the Winter's Bone film, playing their authentic blend of traditional Americana in what will be their first ever North American tour. Bear witness to a legacy that spans generations in the making, performed by the heirs of the Great American Songbook.
Like the Oscar-nominated film, the soundtrack has garnered much critical acclaim:
"A slice of Americana free of any artificial toppings." - The Los Angeles Times
"A starker and earthier companion to O Brother Where Art Thou? The brilliant album delivers an outsider's glimpse into the Ozarks, and offers a wide variety of deeply heartfelt traditional music from this rich, rural region." - No Depression
"4 Stars... Warm, resonating music from the Missouri Ozarks." - MOJO
"A soundtrack of authentic Ozarks storytelling songs. Star vocalist Marideth Sisco's well-worn voice is fabulous." - Record Collector
Winter's Bone, the Music: Among the highlights of the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack are the old time sounds of the Ozarks translated into the 21st century by stellar vocalist Marideth Sisco. Her
Ronnie Gilbert (of the Weavers) inspired vocals are absolute joy - and she's an expert storyteller of the Ozarks region. Her spoken word podcast, These Ozarks Hills, can be found online at KSMU.org and on iTunes. Although these musicians are not nationally known (yet), this soundtrack should draw attention to these regional heroes. Dennis Crider; an expert Western Swing guitar picker; Missouri bluegrass maverick Bo Brown; claw hammer banjo picker Van Colbert; upright bass maven Tedi May and Appalachian song stylist Linda Stoffel accompany Sisco in a well-crafted show that will delight fans of "No Depression" and classic Americana music.
Winter's Bone, the Movie; Based on the novel by Daniel Woodrell, the film stars
Jennifer Lawrence (The Burning Plain) in an Oscar nominated performance that's been called "mesmerizing" (Entertainment Weekly). Co-starring
John Hawkes (HBO's "Deadwood"), who was nominated for an Oscar for his powerful performance, the tension-filled drama follows a teenage girl (Lawrence) who sets off on a danger-filled journey through rural Missouri to find her missing father. Seventeen-year-old Ree Dolly must track him down and find the dangerous truth about her father - without getting herself killed - in this taut, pulse-pounding thriller. Nominated for four Academy Awards including Best Picture.

Over the past several weeks, we've been happily dwelling on how much fun we had learning and playing all of our albums this year at "Home For The Holidays" and it got us thinking: Now that we did our homework and we know all these songs, why not take this show on the road and share the fun with our people? So, over the course of 2011, we're going to do just that!
We're going to invade some of our favorite cities for a series of 4-night stands planned in some very intimate venues and play almost every song we ever wrote: Two records a night, in chronological order. That means all your favorite songs as well as all the lost causes and forgotten songs you've always wanted to hear live, but we never remembered how to play...come on out and sing along.
Support bands and details for the Chicago and Boston shows will be announced next week... presale tickets and 4-night passes will go onsale through Chunksaah on the 29th and regular onsale will be April 1st. Tickets and line-up information for the other cities will happen about 2 months before the show dates, so stay posted!!!!

Committed
Concert starts @ 8PM
Doors open @ 6PM
Tickets $13.00 in adv, $15.00 day of show
There's no more compelling instrument than the human voice, and nowhere is that more evident than the debut album by Committed, the six man group that won Season 2 of NBC's hit a capella series "The Sing-Off."
Beyond the stellar lead vocals, soaring harmonies and innovative arrangements, Committed impressed more than nine million TV viewers with their engaging stage presence, easy going camaraderie and dedication to sharing their faith. "One of the things that made us want to be on ‘The Sing-Off' is that it would be a great opportunity for people to know who we are and what we are about," says Maurice Staple.
The popular competition, which earned Committed a contract with Epic Records, exposed the Alabama-based group to a national audience. "The Sing-Off" ranked No. 1 in its timeslot and Committed received a record number of votes, sold more than 110,000 tracks, garnered 25,000 Facebook friends and 7,000 followers on Twitter---all components that have provided a strong launch pad for one of music's most talked about New Group.
The group launched in 2003 at Forest Lake Academy outside Orlando, Fla. "Committed actually started as a quartet and the group expanded into a sextet in 2005," says Geston Pierre. "I was a senior in high school when Tommy [Gervais] and I joined. After we graduated high school, we went to Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama and Maurice and Therry [Thomas] joined in 2005, then DJ and Robbie [Pressley] joined three years ago."
Collectively the group shares a wide range of influences that includes BeBe & CeCe Winans, Stevie Wonder, Bobby McFerrin, Fred Hammond, Earth, Wind & Fire, Al Jarreau and of course, Take 6, who are also Oakwood alumni. "As we arrange, we try to incorporate some of the stuff that we've learned over the years," says Gervais. "A lot of our sound comes from a jazz background and we try to fuse that with our gospel roots. Our sound is different. It's edgier. You have to add the feeling, the soul, the gospel influence. We've listened to a lot of different people, so it's an eclectic kind of thing---jazz, gospel, blues and R&B just all wrapped into one sound. There's a little bit of something for everybody."
All the different facets of Committed's musical personality shine on their self-titled Epic Records debut. "The entire album is a capella," says Thomas. "We do the different sounds that you would hear, guitar sounds, synthesizer sounds. If you listen to it, you almost can't even tell. It's really, really cool."
The project is indeed entertaining as Committed serves up a celestial version of Al Green's "Let's Stay Together," which was also among the audience favorites performed on "The Sing-Off". Committed creatively reinvents Maxwell's "Pretty Wings" and the guys pay tribute to Oakwood's home state by putting their unique stamp on the Lynyrd Skynyrd anthem "Sweet Home Alabama."
"'Sweet Home Alabama' is one of my favorites because we represent Alabama and they've been so supportive," says Staple. "We thought it would be great to put that one on the album just to show people that we appreciate them. We took it away from the country style and we grooved it up a little bit."
The group's faith shines through in their spirited renditions of the timeless "Down by the Riverside" and the powerful "Soon I Will be Done." The collection also includes "Break Free," an original penned by Therry Thomas. "I wrote the song last year with two of my friends from Oakwood," says Thomas. "I sent it to one of the producers and they liked it. It's a big honor to have it on the album. The song is about breaking free from the life that we're living. There are a lot of things that just tie us down it talks about letting God handle our business for us and being free from the cares of the world."
The group also includes a shimmering version of Michael Jackson's "Hold My Hand." "My favorite would be ‘Hold My Hand' simply because it has a powerful message," Gervais says. "When we performed it on ‘The Sing-Off', [judge] Nicole [Scherzinger] cried on that one. I cried. Therry did too. Maurice did. It was really emotional. It was great to be able to go out there and show people what this group is about."
The men of Committed have seen the power of the human voice to entertain and, more importantly, its power to change lives. They respect their calling and are focused on what matters most. "We are committed to God first and foremost and we are committed to each other," says Baptiste. "And we're committed to our music."
"It's a blessing to be able to do this," adds Pierre. "We're just enjoying the journey."

Tinariwen (Tamashek for "empty places") is a musical band formed in 1982 in Moammar al-Qadhafi's camps of Tuareg rebels. They play in the Tishoumaren ("music of the unemployed") style, and sing mostly in the French and Tamashek languages. Their songs mostly concerning independence for their people from the government of Mali. They are said to be the first Tuareg band to use electric guitars. Having recorded many albums available on cassette over their eighteen years, the group recorded their first album for the CD format in December of 2000; the album was known as The Radio Tisdas Sessions and was their first recording available outside of Africa. The Western world first took great notice of Tinariwen due to their performance at Le Festival au Désert, a musical festival held in Tin-Essako, Mali, a remote region of the Sahara Desert, in January of 2001. The band released a second album, Amassakoul ("Traveller") in 2004, and played concerts in Europe (where they performed one of the highlights of the 2004 Womad Reading ) and the United States to support the album. In 2005, they performed at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark, the Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival of Music and Dance in Trumansburg, New York and Cambridge Folk Festival in England. In 2006, Tinariwen played at the Festival International in Lafayette, Louisiana.
