Clara Henningsen weds fiancé Jacob Calaway just five days before The Henningsens hit the road on Brad Paisley's Beat This Summer Tour
Clara Henningsen, lead singer of Arista Nashville recording trio The Henningsens, is now a married woman, having wed fiancé Jacob Calaway this past Saturday, May 5, in a beautiful ceremony amid light rain on the Henningsen family farm in Illinois.
The wedding comes amid a whirlwind time for the family band - which consists of Clara, her brother Aaron, and father Brian - who are currently inside the country airplay Top 20 with their debut single, "American Beautiful," and preparing to spend the summer on tour with Brad Paisley's Beat This Summer Tour presented by Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, beginning May 9.
About her wedding day, Clara shared, "It was really cool because I got married on our family farm, in Illinois, and it's such a special thing because, like the Miranda Lambert song says, that's pretty much the house that built me and where I was raised and where I grew up. It's really where I wanted to get married.
"Our wedding party was a total of 14 people - not including the bride and the groom," Clara laughs, "and the little ring-bearers and the flower girls. All my sisters were in the wedding and Jacob's brother and all my cousins and best friends I grew up with were also in the wedding. It was very special."
Engaged since last September, the couple decided that a springtime wedding would be a beautiful way to celebrate before the band embarks on the Paisley tour, which continues through late August.
Co-written by Clara, Aaron, and Brian Henningsen and Brett Beavers, The Henningsens' "American Beautiful" is now #18 and #19, respectively, on the Country Aircheck and Billboard country airplay charts, bringing a fresh, dynamic sound to the airwaves as the only new-artist debut single currently inside the Top 20.
