The Growlers Announce New Album and BEACH GOTH POP UP WEEK 2 Image

The Growlers are thrilled to present Beach Goth Pop Up: WEEK 2 in Downtown LA, Thursday 7/26 - Sunday 7/29 at 1700 Naud Street. Free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis, it redefines what a pop-up can be, bringing The Growlers' signature psychedelic vibes to their fans in an immersive, mind-melting carnival of music, design and fashion.

The first week of operation (July 19-22) was a smashing success, with capacity crowds and outrageous performances from bands like Starcrawler and Puzzle. Acrobatic contortionists wandered through the crowd as fans in the vintage shop purchased one-of-a-kind items, hand-picked by The Growlers, while the Bob Baker Marionette Theater brought their legendary puppets for a bewildering Beach Goth showcase.

Week 2 promises to bring another week of madness, led by Thursday's world premiere listening party of CASUAL ACQUAINTANCES, the new LP from The Growlers. Made up entirely of demos, works-in-progress, and other unfinished business from the band's City Club sessions, Casual Acquaintances brings back the grit and majesty of vintage Growlers, "Beach Goth" in its purest form. Cassette copies will be available for sale this Thursday in collaboration with Burger Records and Beach Goth Records, The Growlers recently formed and very own, in-house record label.

Come one, come all!

About Beach Goth 2018

The Beach Goth Pop Up stokes the fires of Beach Goth 2018, the band's annual event held on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Los Angeles State Historic Park, right around the corner from the Beach Goth Pop Up. This year's lineup includes The Voidz (with Julian Casablancas, producer of The Growlers 2016 LP City Club), The Drums, Hatchie, Jonathan Richman, GWAR, Doug E. Fresh, Youth of Today, Yellowman, Bushwick Bill, Starcrawler, Kirin J Callinan and more.

About The Growlers

From their first LP Are You In or Out? (2009) to their latest LP Casual Acquaintances (2018), The Growlers have forged their own twisted path on the global music scene. They're the party band that grew into a traveling circus that spawned their own event, Beach Goth. Lead singer Brooks Nielsen draws a particular devotion among Growlers fans, as does chief cohort Matt Taylor, The Growlers' music director and lead guitarist. Their most recent LP was 2016's City Club, produced by Julian Casablancas, which saw them expand their palette to include West African, dance, and electronic influences. The Growlers are currently preparing for their upcoming Beach Goth World Tour.
