Tent Jams, Abingdon's premiere music lineup, continues on August 28 at 8pm with the legendary bluegrass band, The Grascals.

"The Tent Jams will continue to add to the town's new found reputation as the music hub for Southwest Virginia," said Doug Beatty, co-music promoter. "Each of these unique shows will pair a different music style with one of Southwest Virginia's many outstanding eateries."

The Tent's intimate space makes it "the place" to see live music in the region. With only 350 seats, the audience is only a few feet away from their favorite artists, plus it combines the fun of an outdoor concert with an all-weather venue.

If you're not familiar with the Grascals, you should be. They have appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Fox & Friends, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and CBS' The Talk, as well as performed over 150 times on the Grand Ole Opry. Honors also include performing twice for President George W. Bush and at President Barack Obama's inaugural ball at the Smithsonian.

The Grascals' cutting-edge modern bluegrass is delivered with a deep knowledge of, and admiration for, the work of the music's founding fathers. Timely yet timeless, The Grascals make music that is entirely relevant to the here and now, yet immersed in traditional values of soul and musicianship. It's a unique sound that has earned three Grammy nominations and two Entertainer of the Year awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association, as well as national media attention.

Food, beer and wine will be available for sale inside The Tent. The August 28th spotlight restaurant is Bone Fire Smokehouse, serving up succulent barbecue and sides inspired by The Grascals Southern roots.

Tent Jams are sponsored by EcoLogical Energy Systems; and media sponsors are WETS and WNCW.

Tent Jams are produced in conjunction with Smokin' Pig Productions.

Call 276.628-3991 or visit TentJams.com for tickets and more information. Doors open at 7pm, show begins at 8pm.
