Fusing vintage instrumentation, bold electro-pop textures, and rugged beats with timeless Motown-tinged songcraft, The Gold Setting released their debut Volume and Tone EP last Friday. Fronted by Liza Colby, The Gold Setting boasts a fluid cast of all-stars including multi-instrumentalist/composer/arranger Todd Simon (Ghostface Killah, Sharon Jones, Lily Allen), Grammy-nominated Adam Berg (Decoders), and songwriter/producer/musician Richard Rudolph (Stevie Wonder, Minnie Riperton, A Tribe Called Quest, 2Pac, Chaka Kahn, En Vogue).
In celebration of release, The Gold Setting share their kaleidoscopic video for "My Love"today with The 405. Featuring vocals from Los Angeles-based producer/musician Godfrey At Large, the video was directed by Kevin Pastor of Untitled Productions. Watch it here.
Organic yet electrified, the Volume and Tone EP was recorded using a blend of old school 50s/60s techniques and modern technology, bringing out the authentic tones of the instruments yet delivering an explosive sound. As the band preps for a number of releases in 2017, Volume and Tone is only the beginning of their story - stay tuned for more!
