Seattle-based Pacific elites The Flavr Blue are preparing to release their sophomore album Blue Dream next Friday, October 27th. Today, they share and in-depth interview with The Seattle Times alongside the premiere of their vibrant new single "Picture Perfect." Fusing playful, poppy electronics with Grammy-nominated frontwoman Hollis Wong Wear's ethereal vocals, the track blooms with lush intimacy. Lace Cadence, producer and vocalist for the band, comments:
"'Picture Perfect' is about a long-distance love, and the inspiration for the song itself is international... it was initially inspired by Swedish producer Max Perkele and his song "Inside" featuring the British grime rapper Earz. We wanted to infuse the energy of Miami bass, Detroit house and London garage with our own shimmer so that the track felt like it was blossoming open. Hollis' vocals add that extra wanderlust to the track." Blue Dream is a 14-track collection that provides a relaxing high and a subtly invigorating rush, epitomizing the band's cool-water electronic-pop and R&B that has been making waves since 2012. "Picture Perfect" follows the release of "Fetti & Spaghetti" and its accompanying video, premiered last month via Complex. Both tracks will appear on the album which boasts a fluid cast of all-stars including The Last Artful, Dodgr, YMTK, Jay Park, Cha Cha Malone, and Sweater Beats.Photo Credit: Jordan Nicholson
