The 14th annual Emerald Cup is excited to announce 2017's glass artists. These talented artists create the unique special trophies that are given to the winners of the competition. This year's artists include JD Maplesden, Tristan Hodges, Becky Beardsley, Luke Wilson, Mobius, Jason Burruss, and Becky Beardsley (HaHa Glass).
With consistent growth each year, The
Emerald Cup has continued to mirror the ever-expanding landscape of the cannabis community. With a strong connection to the community and the culture that surrounds it, The
Emerald Cup has maintained its position as the most prestigious cannabis event each year. A large part of this is the partnership we share with the glass community. Once seen as taboo or an underground culture has now become in some ways the epicenter that drives much of the movement into the light and out of the darkness. We all remember the first glass pipe we saw, and how there were "pipe makers" and then "glass artists" like Dale Chihuly and now some of the most notable glass sculptors make pipes. This movement with the glass world has so much energy surrounding it today it truly is incredible. The role glass art plays in this community is precisely why The
Emerald Cup collaborates with artists each year to create unique and special trophies to be given to the winners of the competition. We strive to bring some of the most talented visionary artists together to make all of our trophies each year, and this one is no different. We are so excited with what these artists are putting together; brand new designs being shown for the first time, unique collaborations, and attention to detail for each category to make this competition one to remember.
Such a remarkable set of awards are being put together for all of this years competitors that we will have the trophies on display for all attendees to appreciate before our heroes claim them during the awards ceremony.
HAHA GLASS - BECKY BEARDSLEY
Becky is crafting the CBD Awards for The
Emerald Cup 2017. Haha Glass is known best for the swirling motifs on all of Beardsley's work. Many of HaHa Glass's pieces are centered around natural themes, especially birds, feathers, and the sense of flight. She is also colorblind, which has led to some exceptional color palettes on her pipes. Her swirling styles lead to the creation of her functional pendants which can be easily noticed on a shelf or around someone's neck.

Tristan is crafting the Full season, Light Dep and
Lifetime Achievement awards for The
Emerald Cup 2017. Truly describing himself in his own words, "I like to sculpt the things that have sculpted me",
