The Elected today revealed the cover art of their forthcoming album, Bury Me In My Rings, created by celebrated, Los Angeles-based artist, Mark Grotjahn. Bury Me In My Rings is due for release May 17th on Vagrant Records.
Known for his iconic modernist compositions, the elegance of Grotjahn's work is often tempered by scuffs and markings that attest to the contingencies of process in his otherwise highly controlled pieces. Grotjahn's solo exhibitions have included shows at the Hammer Museum and the Whitney Museum of American Art. His work has also been exhibited in group exhibitions at galleries and museums such as the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, The Royal Academy in London, the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburg, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Bury Me In My Rings was produced and recorded by frontman Blake Sennett (Rilo Kiley guitarist/co-songwriter) with help from Jason Cupp and longtime Elected contributor Mike Bloom. The result is a thoughtful and deliberate pop album layered with soulful harmonies and a sunny disposition, and is easily The Elected's most impressive work to date.1. "Born To Love You"
