The Cathedral of St. John the Divine Welcomes Instrumentalists, Singers, and Music Lovers to Take #refugeinmusic on 2/19

Extending a musical welcome to all supporters of immigrant rights, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine is pleased to host #refugeinmusicon Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 7 pm, at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street).

Instrumentalists, singers, and music lovers are invited to participate and take refuge in the sounds of Bach, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Mozart and Fauré. This community-orchestrated concert will be a show of support for refugees, reaffirming the Cathedral's commitment to the New York City community and to all immigrants, whose impact makes America great.

Instrumentalists: RSVP to sbiegner@stjohndivine.org, and they will have music on hand for you to play.

Singers: Bring your own scores; you will find selections on CPDL if you do not own scores.

Music lovers: Just come and sit anywhere you like!

Mendelssohn: He, watching over Israel & Cast thy burden (from Elijah)

Mozart: Recordare, Confutatis & Lacrymosa (from Requiem, Süssmayr version)
