The Burney Sisters, the Americana-pop duo comprised of siblings Emma and Olivia Burney, have released "Ocean Eyes," the first official single from the upcoming EP, Where We Stand, to be released September 28th via Gaslight Records.
At the young ages of 10 and 13, The Burney Sisters have progressed from covering songs by their favorite artists such as The Avett Brothers, Cowboy Junkies and First Aid Kit, to writing and performing their own material. Primarily playing ukulele, elder sister Olivia wrote the bulk of the material on 2017's debut EP, Running Away, and multi-instrumentalist Emma has recently begun contributing to the composition and arrangement of The Burney Sisters' songs as she expands her instrumental arsenal to include guitar, bass, banjo, keys and fiddle.
The coming months are primed to be a momentous time for The Burney Sisters. On the day of Where We Stand's release, September 28th, the band will appear at The Roots n Blues n BBQ Music Festival in their hometown of Columbia, MO. Music videos for the songs on Where We Stand, as well as additional content, will be released before the end of the year.
