French duo The Blaze today release the incredible video for their new single "QUEENS" from their highly anticipated debut albumDANCEHALL, which will be released this Friday, September 7th on Animal63/Sony Music UK/RCA Records.
Watch "QUEENS" HERE.
This stirring new self-directed offering from the French cousins offers a sobering new insight into the world we live in today. As always, everything The Blaze create is open to total interpretation. The ambiguity of their music and film alike is arguably what makes the band so alluring, constantly launching the viewer high onto a bed of complex human emotions.
Set for release this Friday, their debut album, DANCEHALL is not be confused with the sound specific of the Jamaican genre, but is instead a tribute to the scene itself, which originated in the 1940's. The dance hall was created from a desire to simply come together and party, at a time when the only way to listen to your favorite artist was to come together in such a way. This was a place where people lived, loved and danced. An overwhelming sense of humanity surrounds all that The Blaze create and DANCEHALL is a complete reflection on said humanity.
"QUEENS" follows The Blaze's "Heaven," which, released earlier this spring, is the first single from DANCEHALL. Alongside their first releases "Virile" and "Territory," the sumptuous video, completes a triptych.
Recently profiled in the NY Times, Sunday Arts & Leisure section (click HERE to read), The Blaze also delivered an incredible live performance at Coachella earlier this spring and are gearing up for their first North American headlining tour this fall in support of DANCEHALL.
