The Black Lips & The Khan Family (King Khan, his daughters and more) are excited to announce the Play Safe EP in conjunction with Record Store Day 2018. In celebration of the announcement, the legendary crew has shared new track "Too Much In Love," which is available to stream HERE. The EP -- which also features contributions from Sean Lennon, members of The Spits and Khan's newest band Louder Than Death -- will be released on Record Store Day 2018 (April 21) only on 12" clear blue vinyl with light blue, dark blue and green splatter.
In late 2017 on tour supporting last year's Satan's Graffiti or God's Art?, The Black Lips came through Berlin and joined forces with long time partner in crime King Khan. Along with Khan and his daughter Saba Lou (who opened for the Black Lips while they were in town), the band recorded a session for local station Radio EINS featuring a trio of songs written with and by Khan.
The resulting garage goodness is captured here along with an alternate take on one of these originals by King Khan, Saba Lou and members of The Spits, as well as the original recording of "52 Drops" recorded by Sean Lennon during sessions for the last Black Lips record. Black Lips are set to begin a US tour with Black Angels this month -- tickets and more information can be found at http://black-lips.com/.
Play Safe is being released in association with Viva Con Agua, a non-profit that has helped over 2,000,000 people get access to clean water in Uganda, Ethiopia and other countries throughout South America and Asia.
