The Beach Boys' Mike Love Releases 'It's OK' Featuring Hanson Image

Today, co-founder and chief lyricist of The Beach Boys, Mike Love and Hanson released "It's Ok," a new single celebrating the final days of summer. Listen to the song below!

Rolling Stone called the track "buoyant," saying it "captures the sun-kissed vibes of the original while adding some playful pep to the punchy new arrangement."

The fun, rollicking tune was originally written by Mike Love and Brian Wilson and featured on the Beach Boys 1976 Gold album, 15 Big Ones.

Earlier this summer, Love was working with Hanson on an upcoming holiday project andthey decided to record a brand-new version of "It's Ok," as it's one of Hanson's favorite Beach Boy tracks.

"The Beach Boys have a storied history with this song and the new version of "It's Ok" continues this legacy," said Mike Love. "It's a reminder that regardless of what's going on in your life... get out and enjoy the summer. I loved re-recording the song with Hanson. I think they brought a great energy to it. Brothers Taylor, Zac and Isaac grew up singing harmonies like my family did and they've written some great songs over the years. It was a blast working together."

Taylor Hanson added, "Twenty-five years ago, we were singing Beach Boys classics to an audience of a handful at our first concert. To be asked to collaborate with Mike Love, a music icon to us, was a total honor. There are few things greater than being granted mutual respect from an artist you greatly admire."

"It's Ok" is released by BMG and is produced by Grammy award-winner Michael Lloyd. The track is now streaming and available for download worldwide on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, and more.
