Tegan Marie Reaches Destination 'Keep It Lit' With Music Video Image

Warner Music Nashville's and Sweety High's TEGAN MARIE spreads the light with the world premiere of her official music video for "Keep It Lit" while the new song is released across all digital retailers today (1/19). Following the debut, the video will go into rotation on CMT Tuesday (1/23) AND AIR FOR RADIO DISNEY COUNTRY ON THE DISNEY CHANNEL. Watch the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAj7Ble3ixg

Filmed in Idyllwild, CA, aboard a retro green bus, the video was directed by Veronica Zelle and executive produced by Frank Simonetti (Tegan's co-managers and founders of the girls' media company Sweety High). Having produced videos for Justin Timberlake, Madonna and Britney Spears, Zelle was a perfect match for the rising star's young and fresh sensibility. A coming of age vignette, "Keep It Lit" takes Tegan Marie on a journey through wide-open lands. Sharing her light with the people she meets, it's a thinly veiled metaphor for her last couple of years in Nashville.

"Veronica saw what I was feeling when we wrote that song," shared Tegan Marie. "It's about celebrating the people that come into our lives, and that was what the video became."

All aglow, Tegan Marie will celebrate the release of "Keep It Lit" at Opry at the Ryman in Nashville tonight (1/19). Next, she'll perform the inspiring tune on NBC's TODAY with Kathie Lee and Hoda on 1/31 and round out the day with her NYC concert debut in The Studio at Opry City Stage. Tickets are available at oprycitystage.com.

Media and fans alike have already taken notice of the rising star's talent after being first discovered by leading Gen Z girls' media company Sweety High. Landing on several high-profile emerging artist lists, Rolling Stone just named her as one of the "10 New Country Artists You Need To Know" while HuffPost and Billboard featured her in their 2018 Country Artists to Watch lists. Billboard praises, "...few have the stage presence, songwriting skills and overall show business moxie as this Michigan native..." and HuffPost adds, "Tegan Marie is primed to be country music's first Gen Z star."

About Tegan Marie:
With a larger-than-life voice, Tegan Marie was discovered when her father uploaded videos of her cover songs to Gen Z girls' site, Sweety High. Featured as a Radio Disney Country artist, she has since catapulted into the national spotlight with several high-profile media performances and appearances including ABC's Good Morning America and PBS' star-studded special Smokey Robinson: The Gershwin Prize and the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards. First releasing the song "Lucky Me" to benefit the children affected by the water crisis in her hometown of Detroit, the momentum continued with her breathtaking rendition of Florida Georgia Line's #1 hit song, "H.O.L.Y.," racking up over 17 million views on Facebook. In 2017 alone, Tegan garnered over 100 million video views had 270 million social engagements and gained two million social followers. She's also had a string of coveted opening slots, sharing the stage with artists such as Cam, Hunter Hayes and Kelsea Ballerini. This past spring Tegan presented at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards, appeared at CMA Music Festival on the Radio Disney Country stage and at California's popular Country music festival Stagecoach to great acclaim. Critics praised her performance with USA Today hailing, "[Tegan] Marie has the personality and the voice of a future star, and she definitely has the always hard-to-define 'It.'" Last summer she partnered with Pepsi MidAmerica for a six-city tour and is currently working on her debut album for Warner Music Nashville.
