Hollywood Records artists (FIYM) Forever In Your Mind's single, "Compass," from their hit 2016 self-titled debut EP "FIYM," will be featured in the high school dramedy REACH announced the film's co-writer/producer Maria Capp. "Reach" stars Garrett Clayton ("Hairspray Live!"), Joey Bragg (Disney's "Liv and Maddie"), and 2017 Teen Choice Award nominee for Choice Comedian, Jordan Doww ("HollyWEIRD").
The film also features music from InRage Entertainment artists, including "I Love Me" performed by RAFFAELA, "Cherry Bomb" performed by James Barmore, and "Elephant in The Room" performed by SOTO AND THE KRASH. Other music featured in the film includes the original songs "Breathin'" and "Hello Darlin," performed by indie rock band, Still Rebel. Teen actor and composer Rio Mangini, who also has a cameo in the film, will score "Reach" in collaboration with award winning sound designer and film composer Jeffery Alan Jones (Sundance, "Bitch" and SXSW, Most Beautiful Island).
FIYM's new single, "Smooth" was released by Hollywood Records on April 28, 2017. FIYM has been nominated for a 2017 Teen Choice Award in the Music category as Choice Next Big Thing. The 2017 Teen Choice Awards will air LIVE Sunday, August 13, 2017 on FOX.
Also starring in "Reach" are Johnny James Fiore, who also co-wrote the script, Bojesse Christopher, Kevin Sizemore, Concetta Tomei, Raffaela Capp, Steven Thomas Capp, Grant Harling, who also co-wrote the script, Natasha Capp, Brent Tarnol, Michelle Danner, and Chelsea Cook. Jarret Tarnol ("See You in Valhalla"), directed the film, and Autumn Bailey and Charles Box are producing along with Cappricielli Production. "Reach" is currently in post-production.
In "Reach" a socially awkward genius, Steven Turano (Clayton), divulges to a pro-suicide support group that he plans on killing himself. He is constantly picked-on by former childhood friend and school bully, Nick Perkins (Doww), and his widowed father, for whom he harbors a deep resentment for over his mother's death. However, when Clarence (Fiore), the new quirky kid in school, befriends him, Steven's plans are sidetracked and he reaches beyond his comfort zone to form stronger relationships with his father, friends and teachers.
"Reach" is a window into the private lives of both bullies and their targets, and shows how the power of one small gesture can change the course of one's life. "Reach" was awarded Best Feature Screenplay in The Hollywood & Vine Film Festival in 2015.
