Reviewers all over are raving about Taylor Swift's new ‘Speak Now World Tour,' comparing its many theatrical elements to those of Broadway shows. And in fact, Broadway has been an inspiration of Swift's that helped create the elaborate set, which includes fireworks, flying balconies and aerialists.
"Since I was a little kid I've always been really just fascinated by Broadway," Taylor said, "and how you have set pieces coming in from the sides and from the ceiling and then from the floor, and all of the sudden you're in a completely different world and you're sucked in and you're in the experience, you're in the story."
Swift spent last week performing four sold out shows at Newark's Prudential Center. The New York Times said that ["Speak Now"] went off, as did every number, with clockwork professionalism and thousands of voices singing along and screaming between the lines. Ms. Swift, 21, is their superstar... her songs are taut, tuneful narratives."
The Speak Now World Tour runs through November.
