A musical Marine, a coal miner's daughter and an up-and-coming country band with a new album are heading to the Lancaster Grand Theater in Lancaster, Kentucky, on Friday, January 29.

U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Matt Smith, singer/songwriter Kaitlyn Baker, and Travis Harris & The West Coast Turnaround will take turns taping "Tim Farmer's Homemade Jam" in front of a live audience. The popular television concert series airs on PBS affiliates throughout Kentucky and seven surrounding states, on the Kentucky Educational Television (KET) network.

Smith, who is based at the Marine Barracks in Washington, D.C., first attracted national attention in 2014 when he and other military personnel were featured on the Academy of Country Music's "An All-Star Salute to the Troops." On that program, Smith and U.S. Marine Corps Capt. John Auer sang with Lady Antebellum. Smith has also appeared on "Fox & Friends" and at the White House as part of the PBS Special "In Performance at the White House: A Salute to the Troops."

Travis Harris & The West Coast Turnarounds bill themselves as a roots country band whose songs reflect the "common man's point of view. Their latest album, "The Truth & Other Lies," is scheduled to be released soon. (https://youtu.be/wNWSJNrkbHM)

Baker, who was raised in the coal mining town of Pound, Virgina, has been performing professionally since she was a young girl. Her song "Coal Train" was included in the 2015 Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards ZinePak, a 2-disc album that debuted at #4 on Billboard magazine's Top Country Albums chart. Recently, she filmed a scene for an upcoming documentary about the historic Bristol Sessions, the series of recordings that launched the country music industry in 1927, with musical direction by Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Carl Jackson.

Also performing on "Tim Farmer's Homemade Jam" will be the show's Emmy-winning host and his band, Tim Farmer and Cool Water.

The taping will take place at the Lancaster Grand Theatre, 117 Lexington Rd, Lancaster, KY 40444 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $12. For reservations, visit www.LancasterGrand.com or call (859) 583-1716.
