The Skivvies will make their Los Angeles debut at the Rockwell Table & Stage tonight, March 4 at 7:30pm with Tony Award Winning special guests, Laura Benanti and Daisy Eagan.
The Skivvies are Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley, award-winning NYC singer/actor/musicians doing stripped down versions of eclectic covers and eccentric originals. Not only are the arrangements stripped down - cello, ukulele, glockenspiel, melodica - but the Skivvies literally strip down to their underwear to perform.
Molina (Broadway's Rock of Ages, Sweeney Todd, Mary Zimmerman's Candide, Marry Me A Little) and Cearley (first national All Shook Up and the lauded one-man show ...And Then I Wrote a Song About It) are YouTube sensations with their Skivvies covers of artists like Robyn, Lana Del Rey, Carole King and Rihanna. They have been making quirky pop music together and playing across the country since 2004, with a live show that's fast and funny and packed with big voices, crazy harmonies and fun arrangements.
The concert will also feature Barrett Foa (Avenue Q), Kate Morgan Chadwick (Grease) and Joseph Morales (In the Heights).
