"The Official Blues Brothers Revue," starring Wayne Catania as "Jake" and Kieron Lafferty as "Elwood," will make its way to the Suncoast Showroom Nov. 14 and 15.
"The Blues Brothers" is a blues revivalist band that was created in 1976 by "Saturday Night Live (SNL)" cast members
Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi as part of a musical sketch. In 1978, after multiple "SNL" appearances, the band released an album, "Briefcase Full of Blues." "The Blues Brothers" came to life as a Hollywood blockbuster in 1980, with Belushi starring as "Jake" and Aykroyd as "Elwood."
Catania and Lafferty were hand-selected by the original "Elwood" himself, Aykroyd, as well as the late John Belushi's wife, Judy Belushi Pisano. "The Official Blues Brothers Revue" brings a hilarious and high-energy performance fans would expect from the original cast.
The multi-media show pays homage not only to "The Blues Brothers," but to Chicago's rich history of blues, gospel, and soul music. Expect to hear all the classic songs from the film, including "Shout," "Gimme Some Lovin'," "Sweet Home Chicago" and "Soul Man," as well as hits from "Briefcase Full of Blues."
The show begins at 7:30 p.m. each night. Tickets are available from $16.06 plus tax and fees, and can be purchased at any Boyd Gaming box office by calling
702.284.7777, or visiting
