New Jersey's The Break Lights share its melodic, guitar-heavy debut The Bright Life. The six-track EP premiered exclusively with Pancakes and Whiskey and is available where all digital music is solid and streamed.
Though the EP is the first complete release for the promising alt-rockers, The Break Lights have wasted no time landing on tastemaker radars, including NPR Music, which dubbed its Tiny Desk submission one to watch, and the band a "favorite" among judges. The band's summery rock pays homage to '60s and '70s guitar gods such as Neil Young, Paul Simon and The Beatles and possesses impressively devleoped pop sensibilities. The Break Lights sought to share songs that expose human emotion and experience. The EP values truth, transparency and vulnerability, and the band hopes it brings growth to all those who connect with it. The tracks are gentle, but move with purpose, and remind fans of the simple, albeit profound impacts of skillful and earnest songwriting and distinct delivery. It follows the band's debut offering Ladies in 2014 and Knockout in 2015.Videos
