Austin, TX -- Texas Performing Arts presents THE BIG PICTURE, featuring David Krakauer, on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 7 PM and Friday, March 27, 2015 at 7 PM at the McCullough Theatre. Tickets on sale now.

Renowned clarinetist and cultural visionary David Krakauer presents his powerful new multi-media production, The Big Picture. The work explores the inseparable relationship between music and movies while reminding the audience of their incomparable contributions as co-stars. Bringing together an all-star cast of musicians, Krakauer's new project presents otherworldly interpretations of the music found in a myriad of moviegoer's favorites including Sophie's Choice, Life is Beautiful, The Pianist, Radio Days, and more, The Big Picture transports the audience to the shores of their memory banks while expanding appreciation of one of life's great couples - music and movies. Original films, created for the production, embrace Krakauer's adventurous and individual spirit of self-discovery.

David Krakauer is widely considered one of the greatest clarinetists on the planet, receiving praise internationally as a key innovator in modern klezmer as well as a major voice in classical music. Known simply as "Krakauer" to his fervent following, he is nothing less than an American original who has embarked on a tremendous journey transforming the music of his Eastern European Jewish heritage into something uniquely contemporary.
