The American Songbook Project, a non-profit organization that brings American music programs back into New York public schools, will honor legendary composer Jerry Herman and Guild Hall (East Hampton, NY) at their annual signature event "Name That Tune" on Friday, November 4, 2011 at the historic Hudson Theater in New York City.

"We are pleased to be honoring Jerry Herman who is one of Broadway's most successful composers (Hello Dolly, Mame, La Cage aux Folles and so many more) in his 80th birthday year," states TASP President and Founder Michael Estwanik. "Guild Hall is also celebrating its 80th year and we honor them for their excellence in presenting concerts featuring the American Songbook each season."

Committee members include award-winning Broadway producers Terry Allen Kramer, Jonathan Farkas, Jamie deRoy, and Pamela Laudenslager as well as stars Liza Minnelli, Brooke Shields, Kelli O'Hara, Greg Naughton, and Jane Kaczmarek.

"Name That Tune" is the charity's annual fundraising event. At this lively gala guests are encouraged to wear a costume depicting a favorite song title and are judged by a celebrity panel of Broadway stars and fashion aficionados (the Grand Prize being a trip for 2 to Monte Carlo). There will be stage performances as well as a live auction of fabulous adventures around the world.

The American Songbook Project was founded in 1999 with the mission to preserve the heritage of American songs, to foster its artists, to promote the art of live performance with a special focus on classic and contemporary American music, and to present these songs and performances in New York schools and community centers.
