TENTH MOUNTAIN DIVISION revives the soul, spirit and eclectic intersection of influences that birthed rock'n'roll, afresh for the modern ear. Just a fancy way of saying that we're bringing back classic rock, because that's what we love! Originating from Boulder, CO, founders Winston Heuga (Mandolin) and MJ Ouimette (Electric/Acoustic Guitar) originally sought to create an acoustic bluegrass outfit.
After a few years dedicated to playing bluegrass, the duo transitioned to an electrified, rock'n'roll sound. Here they found their stride when Ouimette and Heuga collaborated with bassist Connor Dunn, drummer Tyler Gwynn and the ever-talented keyboard player Campbell Thomas. Together the quintet creates a diverse soundscape that combines soaring electric guitar leads and melodic keyboards while retaining its roots in bluegrass with Heuga's incomparable mandolin style. The rhythmic interplay of Dunn's driving bass fused with Gwynn's incendiary drumming round out the unique sounding band that is truly a style of its own; what the band refers to as 'Ski Rock".
Tenth Mountain Division has evolved greatly since its inception but retains its roots in the American musical styles of rock, jazz, improvisation, bluegrass and the crossroads between them all. The band has performed throughout Colorado from Boulder's Fox Theatre, the Aggie Theatre, Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom, Pardee Palooza Festival at State Bridge Amphitheatre, in addition to venues across the country when they embarked on their first national tour summer of 2016. TMD's performance at the Fox Theater's installment of the Summer Camp: On The Road competition earned the band a slot at the 2016 Summer Camp Music Festival. Previously they've placed 2nd in CU's 2015 Battle of the Bands as well as winning fan favorite in that competition. Recently, the band released their first album 'Cracks In The Sky' in March of 2016, available now on all platforms!
The Denver-based power trio, CYCLES, comprised of Patrick Harvey (guitar), Michael Wood (drums), and Tucker McClung (bass/vocals) are on a musical mission to melt your mind. Self-described as psychedelic rock fusion, Cycles effortlessly blends rock, jazz, hip-hop, soul, and much more creating a versatile soundscape that makes each live show different than the last. Striving for variety in each set, Cycles carefully construct a live show designed to thrill. Each member brings a special set of skills and influences to the table.
Living in the same house together and practicing hours upon hours each day has created a profound chemistry between the band members that truly shines through in the live setting. Tucker McClung is a powerful commander of the bass who never shies away from applying the melodic nature of the instrument all the while leading the show with powerful vocals. Michael Wood, with his tight and jazzy drum beats, works tirelessly to keep the band on track through intricate tempo changes and wide-open space. Patrick Harvey's dominating guitar shred is what completes the band's sound and often drives them to take the jams into outer space.
The songs are written by all members of the band which adds yet another element of diversity to the end product. With humorous, relatable, and illustrative lyrics, Cycles reaches out and touches their audience in a way that produces a feeling of harmony and community. Throughout the last year, Cycles has picked up some serious steam around Colorado. Every show Cycles plays garners new fans. In January of 2016, the band released their first EP, Loads Of Fun which showcases their one-of-a-kind sound.
