Today, GRAMMY® Award-winning rock band SWITCHFOOT shared a blistering new live video for "Native Tongue," via Alternative Revolt and YouTube Premiere. The live performance clip, produced by SWITCHFOOT and directed by Erick Frost, was shot at Atlanta's historic Tabernacle, and captures the quintet's signature high-energy performance and passionate connection with their fans.
"We love Atlanta and we love the Tabernacle. Such an amazing venue with an incredible crowd. The room was electric and the video captures the energy. This song speaks to our times: we are a house divided. Yet underneath the language of fear or hatred, love is our native tongue. To see a roomful of people set aside their differences to sing one song together is a powerful moment," expressed Frontman Jon Foreman.
According to Atlanta reviewers: "Every song demanded the audience participate whether it was through singing back to the band, clapping, or dancing as best they could on the packed GA floor (Everett Zuraw, 9 to 5 Magazine)" while several fans were "in tears at the sheer joy of the performance and seeing Jon back on stage with the band (Matt Delaney, Imprint Entertainment)."
The Native Tongue Tour coincides with the release of SWITCHFOOT's chart-topping, critically-acclaimed album, Native Tongue, via Fantasy Records. SWITCHFOOT launched the North American leg of the tour, which features support acts Tyson Motsenbocker and Colony House, with sold-out shows at the Orange Peel in Asheville and the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
Throughout the tour, SWITCHFOOT is partnering with Food for the Hungry, an international relief and development organization, to raise money for programs that help communities in 17 countries around the world move from extreme poverty to self-sustainability. Gravity (2006), the Grammy award-winning Hello Hurricane (2009), Vice Verses(2011), Fading West (2014) and Where The Light Shines Through (2016). Along the way, SWITCHFOOT established itself as a world-class live act with a series of sold-out world tours, while racking up a string of radio hits, including "Meant to Live," "Dare You to Move," "Stars" and "Mess of Me." Beyond their career achievements, SWITCHFOOT has been active in a variety of philanthropic efforts, raising over two million dollars to aid kids in their community through the band's own Bro-Am foundation and their annual Bro-Am Beach Fest, a benefit surf contest and concert that's held every summer in Encinitas, CA. They've also maintained a deep commitment to a variety of humanitarian causes, lending their support to such worthy organizations as DATA, the ONE Campaign, Habitat for Humanity, Invisible Children, Food for the Hungry, CURE and To Write Love on Her Arms. SWITCHFOOT's new album Native Tongue will be released January 18, 2019 on Fantasy Records.??
