Swedish trio Like Swimming nicked their name from the Morphine record of the same name, but their music betrays none of that band's ominousness. Instead, "Among A Thousand Desperate Minds," from the forthcoming Structures, is a big, glimmering pop gem. Claes Carlström and Ida Hedene's voices balance each other beautifully; his is a big, rich baritone croon - think early Scott Walker singing Spandau Ballet - and hers is light and crisp and summery. They make the song's message - one of abusive love in oppressive situations - feel like the centerpiece to some futuristic Broadway musical.
