The vivacious and magnetic Sure Sure are joining Hippo Campus on tour this winter. They'll be performing at Neptune Theatre on January 19th.
Their wildly popular tracks, "Friends," "Koreatown," and "Hands Up, Head Down," gained the attention of numerous tastemakers reaching #1 Spot on Hype Machine's Popular charts, they hit #3 Soundcloud's Indie Charts and they sold out both of their shows at The Satellite in Los Angeles. Make sure to keep Sure Sure on your radar for 2018 as new music is on the horizon.
Grizzly Bear tweeted from their show, "Swear they could be huge!"
KCRW says of the new single, "'Hands Up, Head Down' is by far my favorite thing I've heard from this band. It contains one of the most ear catching melodies, and snazzy piano lines that I've encountered in ages. It's as if it was designed specifically to make me smile, and to make you smile, and to make anyone that enters its path smile."
Indie Shuffle says, "LA-based Sure Sure have hit the perfect balance of groovy bassline, unique melody and generally catchy style on their new single "Hands Up." At just over 4 minutes in length, it ebbs and flows in a manner that leaves me wanting more, more, more! when it finally comes to its abrupt stop."
"Hands Up Head Down" sounds like the lovechild of Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust" and Tame Impala's "Elephant." The hypnotic bassline and the wonkysynth melody set the stage for the song, which tells the narrative of a nightmarish scene in a dark bar where you don't belong. The chorus lyrics "Don't look at those figures in the background / Put your hands up, keep your head down" are at once spooky and anthemic: you want to dance despite the prickle crawling up your spine.
