Styx Announce Exclusive UK Show Image

Styx bring their only UK show in 2019 to the prestigious London Palladium on the 4th June for "An Evening Of Styx." They will perform music to celebrate their hugely successful 47-year career, including tracks from their most recent studio album The Mission. The band have been a staple of "Rock radio" playlists throughout this time, with songs including Crystal Ball, Come Sail Away, Lorelei, Blue Collar Man, Renegade, The Grand Illusion, Too Much Time On My Hands and Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man).

This will be the first time Styx have headlined their own show in the UK since 2005 and their first performance since their co-headlining tour with Journey and Foreigner in 2011.

"Considering that the rock band Styx has been influenced by British rock of the '60s and '70s. It's always a treat for us to perform there for our fans in Great Britain and beyond," says guitarist/singer James "JY" Young. "Joe Elliott from Def Leppard was in the audience the first time we played in 1978 in Sheffield, England and now it's been 40 years since that performance, so now he'll have to come see us at the London Palladium this time!"

As singer/guitarist Tommy Shaw exclaims, "Hello Friends! I'm excited to announce that Styx will be returning to London, England and we will perform for one night only at the magnificent London Palladium on June 4! It's been way too long. See you there!!!"

The current line-up of Styx has been working together for over 15 years and includes Tommy Shaw (vocals, guitars), James "JY" Young (vocals, guitars), Lawrence Gowan (vocals, keyboards), Todd Sucherman (drums) and Ricky Phillips (bass), along with surprise appearances by original bassist Chuck Panozzo. Formed in Chicago in 1972 Styx released six studio albums between 1972 and 1977 when they broke out with their album The Grand Illusion released in July 1977 (7/7/77). Throughout the seventies and eighties, the band also released the albums Pieces Of Eight, Cornerstone, Paradise Theatre.

Since that time the band has enjoyed worldwide success with both singles and albums throughout the eighties and nineties. They band released their most recent studio album, The Mission, in June 2017 when it became their biggest charting album since 1983's Kilroy Was Here.

After 14 years, STYX's sonically sweet 16th studio album and its most ambitious, most challenging, and most rewarding album to date, THE MISSION, was finally released June 16, 2017 on the band's label, Alpha Dog 2T/UMe. It debuted on various Billboard charts, including: No. 6 Top Rock Albums, No. 11 Physical Albums, No. 11 Vinyl Albums, No. 13 Current Albums, No. 14 Billboard Top Albums, No. 16 Retail, No. 17 Mass Merch/Non-Traditional, No. 29 Digital Albums, and No. 45 Billboard 200 (includes catalogue and streaming). A special two-disc reissue of THE MISSION was released on July 27, 2018 via Alpha Dog 2T/UMe, which includes a CD of the original album, as well as a Blu-ray of THE MISSION mixed in 5.1 Surround Sound by singer/guitarist Tommy Shaw and producer Will Evankovich accompanied by stunning visualizations for each of the album's 14 songs based on the album artwork. Other extras on the Blu-ray include: "The Making of The Mission Documentary" of exclusive interviews of SHAW and Evankovich, four music videos-"Gone Gone Gone" (official video), "Gone Gone Gone" (video created by NASA), "Radio Silence" (lyric video) and "Radio Silence" (live video from Syracuse, NY)-and three hi-res audio playback modes.
