North London four-piece STIIR have released their new single, 'Luxury Butter'. An infectious blend of swelling synthesisers, shimmering guitars and silky vocals, the track flows seamlessly through laid-back verses and euphoric choruses, accompanied by lush vocal harmonies and sumptuous melodies.
"The song plays on the realities of what relationships are actually like," say STIIR. "There's a darker side to it sometimes. There's a brooding element that carries throughout - tension and suspicion. I think you can hear that in the music."
The track follows the release of their debut single, 'Free Yourself', which was met with acclaim from press as well as extensive radio support from Radio 1, BBC Introducing and John Kennedy at Radio X. Jack Saunders at Radio 1 has proven a particularly big fan of the band, featuring the track as the first ever 'Midnight Drop' on the Radio 1 Indie Show, while the video has already amassed over 190,000 views.
The band made their live debut at This Feeling's 12th Birthday Bash at London's Nambucca earlier this month and now with their second single, the exciting newcomers are heading for even greater glories - bringing a refreshing style and deliciously irresistible sound to the scene.
Blending jazz and soul influences with intoxicating pop song writing, and with influences as varied as The Beach Boys, Al Green and Steve Lacy, the North Londoners are a truly exciting new presence.
