Steve Harvey to Host 2014 Ford Neighborhood Awards Show This August

Already a much-anticipated summer blowout in Atlanta, with four days of special events, this year's Ford Neighborhood Awards show hosted by award-winning author, radio, talk show and Family Feud host Steve Harvey, will recognize community leaders, businesses, education and churches across the nation with a star-studded evening of entertainment this August.

After an outpouring of nominations from fan submissions, The Steve Harvey Morning Show kicks off voting on the Top 48 finalists, beginning Monday June 2nd and ending Tuesday June 17th, for 12 days of exciting announcements on the 12 Neighborhood Awards categories, revealing the Top 4 finalists on-air in one category per day, with voting open online at www.SteveHarvey.com. Also kicking off June 2nd, The Steve Harvey Morning Show will usher in a new event for the weekend, with the launch of the 2014 Neighborhood Awards Church Choir Competition presented by JCPenney.

Tune in to The Steve Harvey Morning Show weekdays for the latest news about the choir competition, the Top 48 Neighborhood Awards finalists who will attend this year's show, and vote online to pick the winners, who will be announced by celebrity presenters on August 9th including David Mann, Holly Robinson Peete, LisaRaye, Shemar Moore, Stephen A. Smith, Yolanda Adams, Hill Harper and more in a glittering evening of laughs and community celebration with award-winning musical entertainment from Anthony Hamilton, Chrisette Michele, India.Arie, Johnny Gill, Ray Chew, and Tamela Mann.

On August 10th, the sounds of choirs will fill the halls at the new 2014 Neighborhood Awards Church Choir Competition presented by JCPenney, taking place at the State Farm 2014 Neighborhood Awards Weekend Expo in the Georgia World Congress Center. Beginning June 2nd, church choirs can submit video entries for the chance to perform live at the finale competition on August 10th, with the chance to win two prizes. Church choirs who are eligible to enter will be choirs whose members are at least 21 years of age, with 12-40 members. Running four days August 7th - 10th in Atlanta, encompassing over 10 events for the 2014 Neighborhood Awards Weekend at the Georgia World Congress Center and Philips Arena, tickets have been selling fast for the 2014 Ford Neighborhood Awards show and surrounding activities, which includes a third show added due to high demand for the Stand-Up Comedy Jam hosted by Nephew Tommy, the 3-day State Farm 2014 Neighborhood Awards Weekend Expo, the Table Classic Championships hosted by Junior, and the Neighborhood Awards Freedom Friday Party opens with the Sing Your Way to the Neighborhood Awards Weekend Expo presented by State Farm and it's hosted by Sheryl Underwood. The Neighborhood Awards Freedom Friday Party will have performances by KEM and The Legendary O'Jays, the Ford VIP After-Party will feature a performance by Bell Biv DeVoe and DJ Frank Ski, and the weekend will also include The Steve Harvey Morning Show live broadcast presented by Coca-Cola, with performances from John Legend and George Tandy Jr., Family Feud Live presented by Ford, and more.

Marking the show's 12th anniversary, Steve Harvey and television/radio producer Rushion McDonald created the one-of-a kind Neighborhood Awards show (formerly the Hoodie Awards) and Weekend Expo, giving star treatment to celebrate everyday men and women who uplift their neighborhoods through their contributions and excellence as local businesses, religious/community leaders, educators, churches, and high schools. Recognizing their inspiring service driven by fans' votes, the show will bestow 12 non-traditional awards in the following Neighborhood Awards categories: Best High School Coach, Best Nail Salon, Best School Teacher, Best Car Wash/Detail Shop, Best Church Choir, Best Soul Food Restaurant, Best Barber Shop, Best High School, Best Barbecue Restaurant, Best Beauty Salon, Best Church, and Best Community Leader.
