Stephen Kellogg Shares Will Hoge-Produced Single SYMPHONY OF JOY From Upcoming Album Image

Stephen Kellogg has shared a new single, "Symphony Of Joy," from his forthcoming Will Hoge-produced full-length Objects in the Mirror due out November 23, 2018. The song is a buoyant Americana-rocker that harkens back to Tom Petty and Bob Seger, in a style that brings to mind the happy-go-lucky approach of Josh Ritter and Ben Rector. Written with his wife and four daughters in mind, "Symphony Of Joy" encourages women to not let society hold them back while inspiring men to support them as allies in their fight, all with an optimistic outlook for the future. In the chorus, he sings, "Dance, like a symphony of joy / And it's not your obligation to go easy on the boys / 'Cause the ceiling's gonna shatter and believe me when it does / Those who pinned you to the margins, baby, they'll be sweeping up."

As Kellogg starts the second verse of "Symphony Of Joy" with, "Now it ain't nobody's station to tell others how to live / But we've got a situation here where evil still exists," his uncanny ability to shed light on what's important, while staying a safe distance away from the soapbox, surfaces. It's an underlying theme present throughout the 12-song set, as is his unwavering respect for the influential women of his life-from his young daughters (to whom he relays a series of tear-jerking fatherly sentiments in "Song For Daughters") to his wife of 16 years (the subject of his George Strait-esque love song, "Love Of My Life") to his beloved late-Grandmother (immortalized in a beautifully nostalgic soundbite at the title track's opening). Objects in the Mirrorproves that, above all else, Stephen Kellogg is a 21st century family man. And as he sings on album track "Easy Money," "Well I don't need a diamond or mother of pearl / Cause I've got a wife and four beautiful girls," we are reminded that for Kellogg the future is, quite literally, female.

To celebrate the release of Objects in the Mirror, Kellogg recently announced an extensive tour of intimate solo shows for this November and December with support from folk singer-songwriter Taylor Carson, as well as a full-band run in Spring 2019. Please see below for full tour details.
