Electronic music luminary Squarepusher has joined the lineup for two incredible upcoming concerts at Brooklyn Steel presented by Festival of Disruption in partnership with Bowery Presents, with net proceeds benefitting theDavid Lynch Foundation's work bringing Transcendental Meditation to people suffering from post-traumatic stress.
In his first New York appearance under the
Squarepusher name in many years, Tom Jenkinson will on May 17 perform a rare DJ set incorporating new and unreleased material, along with other favorite tracks from his archive. The performance will be accompanied by the artist's signature visual display.
Squarepusher joins previously announced performers
Mercury Rev, Wye Oak, andthe Messthetics on May 17. Garbage, Phoebe Bridgers, and
Nancy Whang of
LCD Soundsystem will perform on May 18.
In addition, a limited number of tickets have just been made available for an intimate screening of David Lynch's 1998 film
Mulholland Drive, in tandem with a conversation between Lynch (via Skype) and actor Justin Theroux . This event will take place the afternoon of May 18 at Music Hall of Williamsburg.
As previously announced, these shows are an outgrowth of the Lynch-curated
Festival of Disruption, which launched in Los
Angeles in October 2016 and debuted in New York at
Brooklyn Steel in May 2018. Says Lynch, "Come to the Festival of Disruption, where we are dedicated to disrupting the old bad and bringing in the new good, which is peace, happiness, and good will to all. Let's Rock!"
